6 Ways to Get Your Home Ready for Fall

Another summer has come and gone. Gone are the summer vacations with the family, the backyard BBQ’s, and the sun soaking at the beach along with those hot summer days! Now as we head into autumn, we can look forward to the fall foliage and the colder weather. Our goal at Advanced Comfort Solutions is to make sure your home stays comfortable year-round no matter how the weather outside is. That being said, here are some fall maintenance tips to help you prepare your home for the seasonal changes.

  • Tune up your furnace- Have one of qualified technicians tune up your furnace. (Check out our fall tune-up special!)
  • Change your air filters- air filters keep debris and pollution out of your system. A dirty filter slows air flow causing your furnace to work harder which means its wasting more energy!

  • Clean your gutters- Watching the leaves fall is one of the best things about autumn but many of those leaves can be clogging up your gutters! Clogged gutters can lead to serious problems like damaging your roof and leaks.

If there are trees near your house its very important to make sure the falling leafs don’t build up in your gutters.

  • Caulk around windows and doorframes to prevent heat from escaping.
  • Safety First- Test smoke and CO monitors.
  • If you have a chimney make sure it is properly cleaned and maintained

These simple tips can help keep your home comfortable leading into the cooler months of the year and can prevent other more serious problems from occurring. If you have any questions or comments please visit us at
